Gov. Ambode To Meet With Lagosians To Discuss Security Issues

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos is set to host the annual town hall meeting on security in the state in order to discuss and answer questions on the issue of security in the state.

The town hall meeting is organised by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) which is the first under the present administration and the ninth in the series.

In a statement signed by Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun who is the executive secretary of LSSTF on Tuesday, December 1, he said the meeting would allow the governor to render account of the trust fund, present the audit report and solicit for more donations to the fund. He said this was in accordance with the duty of LSSTF to account to the public on its activities.

Balogun said the meeting would provide an avenue for Governor Ambode to share his security ideas and also get feedback from decision makers and stakeholders. The state commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni will also present the security report of the state to the public.

“Also, other activities such as the recognition of outstanding security operatives and other stakeholders are done at these town hall meetings.”

Meanwhile, Governor Akinwunmi AMbode showed his willingness to put an end to the raging insecurity in the state by donating security equipment and vehicles to the state police command and the Rapid Response Squad valued at N4.765bn.

The governor officially donated the equipment to security operatives at the state house in Ikeja in an attempt to put an end to the growing concern expressed by Lagosians on the issue of insecurity.
