LASG Bans Social Gatherings In Schools Because of Boko Haram

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has banned any form of social gatherings in public schools across the state following intelligence reports that the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group is planning to unleash attacks during this festive period.

The suspended social gatherings include inter-house sports, end of the year parties and other events that have the tendency to attract public attention via music or public address systems.

In the wake of this, many schools in the metropolis have cancelled their earlier scheduled inter-house sports competition and end of the year parties.

“We were a bit disappointed because we have spent a lot preparing for our inter-house sports.
“As a matter of fact, the event was less than 48 hours to go when we received the circular from the Ministry of Education. It is painful but all the same, it is for our safety,” a Principal who craved anonymity told Naij.com Correspondent.

Earlier, Lagosians and Nigerians had been advised to wary of hamper gifts this yuletide, as concerns and uncertainties continue to grow on the strategy that may be adopted by the terrorists who usually unleash their terror with explosives.
