As at the time our reporter got to the scene, a bulldozer was seen clearing the entire market as traders scamper move their goods to a safe place.

“They have told us to leave this place.” He started. “Although, we pleaded that they give us more time in which they have accepted. I was surprised to see them here this morning,” he lamented.
The exercise attracted a lot of attention from passers-by as people watch helplessly as the bulldozer brought down all possible structures in the market.
According to Taiye (not real names) who owns a shop inside the Asade modern market, hoodlums disguise as traders around that area to rob passers-by as well as in-traffic motorists.
She said: “I am sure information reached the state government that some guys use this place as a as a safe haven. They rob women of their bags and also those inside traffic.”
All efforts to speak with the leader of the Task Force team that carried-out the exercise proved abortive as the police men who accompanied the law enforcement agents prevented any form of rapport.
Reports say that the ‘Mallams’ that sell rams and goats around the market have been evacuated to the main Abattoir at Oko Oba.
Meanwhile, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos has reiterated his pledge to make the city business friendly and an investment friendly climate.
The governor said this when he received Mr. Peter Ndegwa who is the chief executive officer of Guinness Nigeria Plc on Monday, November 9 at the state house in Ikeja.
