How do you feel about the Super Eagles qualification to the next round of the World Cup Qualifiers?

Naturally! I feel very excited and fulfilled about it, but again I must talk about the calibre of teams that qualified.

I think they are the best 20 teams in Africa if I’m not mistaking and any of these teams can qualify. So we have to intensify our efforts, go the extra mile, put in our best, we have to be total for us to qualify. There are no minnows in football and these are the heavy weights in football. However, we’ve started re-strategizing.

We are building a new team but my personal opinion is that we still lack the ability to score. I know it’s a global problem but I feel we must develop a way to score.

We are looking at talking to some heavy weights coaches all over the world to see if we can work on this but I must say that our coach is sound. But there are still some things he possibly needs to know about scoring. However, one very good thing about our team is that we now score with set-pieces which is very destructive and very good.

If you look at the game we played against Cameroon, beautiful set pieces.  I think we are getting it and I am very proud of the technical crew and the players. With the support of the federal government, I guess we can get it right.

The leadership of the NFF is dedicated in rebuilding and rebranding football in Nigeria.
NFF President Amaju Pinnick

What are the NFF pans to capitalize on every FIFA window for friendly games?
I have directed our consultant to make sure that every available FIFA window, we avail ourselves the opportunity of playing a grade a friendly game.
As I speak to you, he has spoken to the reigning African champions Ivory Coast and very likely we are going to have a game with them (Ivory Coast) in London. It is not conclusive but we are looking at concluding the deal in December. We are also talking with Italy and the Italian’s FA is excited about playing us after we defeated Cameroon. But most elementarily is our game against Egypt, the two header in Kaduna and Cairo. If we win those two games then we are going to shoot up the ladder and we looking forward to winning both games and happy with the support I’m getting from the executives of the NFF. We can get it right with this new government as the president is very passionate about football.

Do you think we can win the 2016 CHAN?
That’s the aim and not the condition. There is a difference between both and we are not giving anyone a condition because we don’t want to put them in any form of pressure. CHAN is preparatory even if it’s competitive.

We are already in talks with our consultant and very soon the camp will be opened from there, the team will move to Rwanda.
