Osinbajo In Kogi, Campaigns For Audu

 
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo attended a rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okene, Kogi state, yesterday, November 10.

The vice president paid a visit to the paramount ruler of the area, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, before moving to the campaign ground, Daily Trust reports.

Osinbajo canvassed support for the APC governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, ahead of the November 21 governorship election in the state.


He urged the people of the state to come out en masse and vote for Audu, so they can align themselves with government at the centre.

The vice president added that the people of Kogi cannot afford to remain in the opposition, urging the electorate not to commit political suicide by voting PDP, Daily Post reports.

According to him, Audu’s vast experience and connections within and outside the country put him far ahead of other candidates.

He applauded the people for voting President Muhammadu Buhari and other APC candidates during the last general elections, calling on them to do same in the Kogi gubernatorial elections.

A vote for APC is a vote for positive development,” he said.

He further stated that the President Buhari-led administration was committed to taking the country to the next level despite the present challenges.

Audu, who also spoke at the rally, urged the electorate to vote for him, promising that he will provide dividends of democracy to them.

In attendance were the In attendance were APC national chairman, Chief John Oyegun Niger state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, his Edo state counterpart, Adams Oshiomhole, among other dignitaries.

Ahead of the November 21 election, 22 candidates from various parties and their running mates have been named as contestants in the election by the INEC.

P, noting that Audu emerged as flagbearer through a democratic process endorsed by the party leadership. He added that they needed to rally round Audu to bring about the ‘Change’ process which began with APC’s victory in the National Assembly elections in the state.
