Olu-Kayode who condemned the president’s latest appointments via his twitter page, accused the president of being insensitive to the Southern part of the country.
Recall that President Buhari made two key appointments yesterday, November 9.
Two weeks ago, Buhari appointed Professor Mahmood Yakubu as the new chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Yesterday, Buhari appointed Ibrahim Magu, a top level official of the Economic and Governance Unit of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as the acting head of the anti-corruption agency.
Today, November 10, information reaching Naij.com indicates that the president has appointed Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, a former permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Works, as his private secretary.
Many Nigerians have at different times taken to social media to criticise Buhari for appointing northerners into what they say are key positions.
Read Olu-Kayode’s tweet below:
@realFFK Yet another
northerner has been appointed to head the EFCC. Is it that southerners
are incapable? Buhari is so insensitive to the south.
@realFFK The pro-Biafra
march this weekend was formidable and instructive.We continue to ignore
and treat these people with levity at our own peril.
Two weeks ago, the former minister described the confirmation of former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Ameachi as “the greatest mockery of the government’s so-called war against corruption”.
Olu-Kayode had earlier reacted to the ruling of the election petition tribunal in Akwa Ibom and Rivers state, challenging the PDP to wake up before things get out of hand.
