Helps have come the way of the victims of Wednesday, November 18, Kano bomb blast as the federal government through the Presidential Support Fund donated N40 million to the hospitals handling the treatment of the injured persons.
The fund was given to the victims who were currently receiving treatment at two hospitals of Murtala Muhammad Specialists Hospital and Kano Teaching Hospital.
The announcement for the donation of the fund was made by the executive director of the fund, Prof. Sunday Ochoche when he visited the two hospitals, The Nation reports.
He said that he and his team were in Kano to commiserate with the victims, the people and government of the state over the incident.
Ocheche said: “The Fund gave N20 million to each of the two hospitals we visited, making it a total of N40 million. We are here to assist the victims and bring succor to the injured people.”
He said that he believed that the donation would be put into proper uses which will aid the quick recovery of the injured victims.
“The MoU will clearly state how the intervention should be distributed among the victims for their immediate medical needs and attention.
“We have so far given out N240 million for the affected victims, including the N40m million given to the Kano hospitals,” Ocheche added
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari while reacting to the Kano bomb blast said that there should be increased vigilance among the citizens to assist to stop suicide terror attacks on soft targets around Nigeria.
Buhari criticized in strongest terms the wild suicide terrorist attacks that occurred in Kano causing many deaths and wounds among residents.
